Menu "Tools"
 Stamp Tool
In order to mark a document with a certain, instantly recognizable advice , it is recommended to use the stamp function in the sub-menu „Comment And Markup Tools“.
If it is desired to make use of the stamp function, it is possible to use the pre-designed stamps (in English language) or to use own designs created by yourself.
When choosing an own design, it's selected via the stamp pallet (can be found below in the menu field). Own stamps are designed by using pictures or document files.
To place a stamp in a certain part of a PDF-document the according stamp has to be chosen. Then the cursor icon will turn to a stamp icon.
Thereafter, it only takes a click into the desired part of the document. Click the left button off the mouse and the stamp will be in place instantly.
It is also possible within PDF-XChange Viewer PRO to use your own stamps.
 Sticky Notes
As soon as the command „Sticky Notes“ is chosen, the cursor icon turns into s speech balloon. Simply left click on any point in the PDF-document, where you wish to place a commentary and you will be able to paste or type it in.
A right click on the speech balloon will open a context menu, which includes the preferences. Within those preferences the user has the opportunity to determine the appearance oft the speech balloon (commentary cursor icon) and the appearance of the stickers, which mark the comments.
 Typewriter Tool
The command „typewriter tool “ allows to type in new text passages directly into any part of a PDF-document and to save them along with the pre-existing text.
 Text Box Tool
When it is desired to type in text in parts of a document, which display a lot of graphics, pictures, paintings or just colored backgrounds, it is recommended to paste in a text field rather than using the „typewriter“ command. This is because a text field highlights the included text from those backgrounds and graphics. The text is easier to read and fits the surroundings better this way.
 Call Out Tool
Using speech balloons can be a good advice to graphics or certain text passages within the PDF-XChange Viewer – often better than advices with arrows or commentaries.
If it is desired to point out a certain word or a certain passage of text/graphic, it is recommended to do this using a speech balloon to highlight those elements.
Highlight Text Tool
 The command „highlight text“ provides the possibility to chose certain Passages of a PDF-document and to highlight those passages with a text marker function. This is a very effective and easy way to highlight certain contents.
Just choose the command and drag your mouse (while holding the left button) over the text passages, you wish to mark. This is executed until you reach the point of the document/text, where you wish the text marking to end. Done!
While marking the text the already chosen/marked passages will be highlighted with a blue background. As soon as the left mouse button is released this blue background will turn into the typical „text marker like“ yellow.
 Cross Out Text Tool
The command „cross out text“ is used in a very similar way like when marking the text.
First the command has to be chosen in the menu. Passages, where single words or whole sentences are intended to be crossed out have also to be chosen via mouse with a pressed down left mouse button. Those chosen elements will thereafter also be highlighted, with a blue background. As soon as the left mouse button is released a red line, which crosses out the previously chosen text, will appear.
 Unterline Text Tool
To underline text using the PDF-XChange Viewer is basically the same procedure like when crossing it out or marking it.
Again you choose the command in the menu and thereafter the mouse has to be dragged over the passages of text (again with a pressed left button), which are meant to be underlined. Blue background again highlights the passages. As soon as the left mouse button gets released, a green line underlines the previously chosen text passages.
 Arrows and other forms
Red arrows, lines, rectangles, clouds and other symbols/icons can be placed at any point within a PDF-document using the PDF-XChange Viewer.
When double clicking on those elements with the left button, they open up and display a text field for commentaries, which can be composed individually.
Pencil and rubber only work on those forms, which have been edited or rendered by the user. The rubber only erases those elements, which have been made with the pencil. Other forms stay untouched from the rubber. This minimizes the risk of unintentionally erasing something nearly to zero!
 Stamp
The stamp pallet is used to change or enlarge the offer of available stamps. It is possible to change the appearance of existing stamps in the matter of size, to include new stamps, to edit stamps or to erase them from the pallet.
In order to include a new stamp there are several options for editing and using various sources available in the according menu.
