There can be no doubt that Camtasia Studio 6 has made the whole concept of creating screencasts one heck of a lot simpler. Almost anybody who can use a PC can now create high quality screencasts quickly and efficiently. However, there are more advanced features of the package that need some explanation, in this first part of a series of Camtasia Studio 6 Tricks and Tips, we will take a look at batch processing.
If there ever comes a time that you need to convert multiple Camtasia Studio files into a different format. This can be a time consuming process if you do them one at a time. However, Camtasia Studio has an inbuilt batch processing function, and here is a quick rundown on how to use it.
First of all, click on the batch production over in the task list, this is the first step. When the next screen appears, browse and select all of the files you would like to have batch processed. These will be added to the file list, when done click next.
When the next window appears, click on Preset Manager, this allows you to create a new preset which will define the way in which the list of files you have chosen will be processed.
Add a new preset, give it a name, and select the settings you require as per normal rendering. This preset will be used to process the entire file list you previously selected. Once the preset is saved it will be available for use again in the future.
Click the final next button and browse to the location where you would like the files saved, and then click finished. Camtasia Studio 6 will now process the entire batch.
So there we have it, a rough guide to batch processing with Camtasia Studio 6, and the first part of our new Tips and Tricks series.
